The boxcar method
You left out "the boxcar method"
Wrap your index finger around the end of your thumb.
Tap a little mound of snuff onto your thumbnail.
Sniff.
The little sheltered depression of your thumbnail works very well in the wind. It is also a good method to know if you want to take a pinch without contaminating your snuff when your hands are dirty!

Another additional benefit of using the boxcar method rather
than the back of the hand or anatomical snuffbox method is that you don't get any skin oils into the snuff!
