De Kralingse Oranje Snuif
This snuff is, as I understand it, made from a pipe type tobacco, and initially it certainly smells like it, too. I found this off-putting at first, as it is a very strong flavour, but either I have gotten used to it, or the snuff itself has mellowed a little, and now I like it a lot. The grind is coarse, and it is moist. It seems quite strong, nicoteine wise, but that may have to do with the grind and moisture giving it more of a bite in the shnozz. The one drawback, and it is something I have experienced with other coarse ground snuffs, is that it is very, very unpleasant to get in the back of your throat. I find it prudent to quickly blow my nose after taking this snuff, which is not my usual instinct, as I would prefer to savour the flavour, so to speak.
Lastly, concerning the "oranje" part of this snuff- I occasionally get the very slightest whiff of orange, like orange flavoured chocolate, but otherwise it is not a flavour that is easy to detect by any means. As it happens, I don't care, as this snuff has a great deal else going for it, flavour wise.

Latakia Oranje
I agree that the orange flavour is not very much in evidence, just a slight citrusy flavour. Very similar to the plain Latakia 1860. I can recommend either, but perhaps not both, as they are so alike!
