Snuff Review:

As a user of primarily plain snuffs, I mostly go for S.P. type snuffs.

J&H Wilson's S.P. No1 is one of my favourites. It's a nice light brown colour. It is very fine ground and has a 'fluffy' velvety texture.
Due to it's fine grind, it can be a little unforgiving if you sniff a little too hard, and it takes a few tries to learn the right technique and avoid it going to the back of the throat.

I'd advise beginners to be very gentle at first. I read some good advice somewhere on the net, and I'll repeat it here. If you fill your lungs 90% before taking snuff, you'll find it is almost impossible to hurt yourself!

I persevered with this snuff,as I wanted to cut down on the number f cigarettes I smoke.
The perseverance pays off- snuff makes you sneeze the first few times, but how many smokers can say they didn't cough the first time they smoked?

Only you get past that stage and become accustomed to snuff will you learn to enjoy the more subtle aroma and 'nose' of the different snuffs.

The reason for all the above waffle is that this snuff is the first one that I truly appreciated in this way.
Once I could take snuff without my eyes streaming and nose running, I realised that I had a very pleasant and intriguing scent left in my nose- a eureka moment!

I can appreciate any snuff that I try nowadays, but I still keep coming back to S.P. types, and this one in particular.

My everyday snuff is a roughly 50/50 mix of J&H Wilson S.P. No1 and Wilson's of Sharrow S.P. 100.

I like both of these snuffs equally, and my half- half mix seems to combine the best qualities of both.
