Snuff Tobacco Forum

I bought a can of Copenhagen Snuff the other day and im not exactly sure if what im doing is correct. I've heard a range of things such as lighty powdering your nostril to just straight snorting it up your nose. What i've been doing is a slight snort. Today I snorted it up alittle bit and when I was finished I tried to blow it out the tobbaco and nothing came out. Is this normal? And is it dangerous if the tobbaco is lost in your nostrels? please help me I don't want brain cancer! /Confused Snuff Noob

Hey Gonff, Welcome to the world of snuffing, however, I think I better warn you that what you have bought sounds like 'dipping' tobacco to me instead of nasal tobacco that we refer to on this site. Dipping tobacco should not be taken through the nose at all, it should be placed between the lip and gums - I have a link to more info on this form of tobacco: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipping_tobacco It probably won't have done you any real harm by snorting this, but I wouldn't advise doing this repeatedly!!! However, nasal tobacco, should be taken in a similar way to what you have tried out. Just take a small pinch between index finger and thumb and lightly inhale one nostril at a time. The snuff will stay in your nose, and you should give it a good blow after a few pinches to clear out the remnants of the tobacco. Hope this helps Gonff! The Snuffman

;X Yes, I have dipped tobbacco for nearly 2 years. But this is Copenhagen Snuff. I figured it was to be taken in the nose, but I guess im wrong. Good thing I asked ^^ Thank you for teh advice, i'll check out some other real nasel tobaccos Edit: My girlfriend just gave me hell. She's wanted me to quit Dipping tobacco for more than a year when we met, but I just can't kick the habit! I love it so much. So I told her about this safer alternative to get my nicotine fixes. I thought I was bringing good news, but apparently not! She doesn't know how addictive it is since shes never used any forms of tobacco, or anything for that matter. Im still young, only 21 years old, and only used tobacco for 2 years, I don't see why she wont give me a few years of fun before I quit!
