yes, indeed it's like being in a field of Lavender. I have Lavender in my garden here, and the smell is exactly the same so bet it's real Lavender in that snuff. The nicotine hit is good I agree, it is a stronger // sharper variant. I always take it just before going to sleep. In the old days, mothers always put a bag of Lavender under a childs pillow and I think this has the same effect. I never had better nights since! The Lavender herb indeed gives rest and comfort.
