White (non tobacco) snuff
I have taken snuff sporadically for some twenty five years - usually menthol for sinus problems or raspberry cos I liked it. Now, in search of a more socially acceptable snuff I sought out white snuff which I remember a pal showing me about fifteen years ago. I found it in Germany (expensive to procure), and at Wilsons of Sharrow (check the link to their website). Carol at Wilsons was most helpful and I placed an order for a selection including the white for £10 post paid.
The white snuff is glucose based and is extremely fine, so fine that if you spill it on cloth (beware - the tin is packed full) it will penetrate the weave if you try to brush it off - better to try to blow it off immediately.
Being so fine it positively whizzes up the nostrils and the menthol effect on the sinuses is immediate. It does not seem as strong as '99', although this could be due to the absence of tobacco content.
Best of all it doesn't stain your whiskers or your hanky, so should be more socially acceptable - although you don't get the nicotine kick with it.
Be careful if taking it in the pub - sniffing white powder in public could be hazardous to your freedom if misunderstood!

Regarding White Snuff??
Hi,
There is this Snuff that I had and I enjoyed very much but, I can not remember the name of it, However I do remember that it came in a Round White Plastic type box and it twisted to open and the White snuff came from a round hole in the side of the box. It was either Vanilla, are Menthol in flavor. Please let me know if any of you have heard of this Company???
Warmest Regards,
